MURDERED REMEMBERED
❦Noah Czerny was born in the late 1980s to a wealthy Virginia family. One of three lovely, privileged children, he grew up without the need to worry about his future or his fortune. He was gifted with a carefree, lackadaisical childhood in the warm countryside, and as his teenage years arrived and he entered the illustrious Aglionby Academy for high school, nothing seemed destined to change. He grew into a cheerful, benevolent troublemaker, always getting speeding tickets or raiding his parents’ liquor cabinet, but eternally brimming with excited ideas. He spent most of his boundless energy, however, trotting around the countryside with his best friend, Barrington Whelk. (Continue)
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
♚ VISUAL: 5'6'' and gangly, with messy hair and big, shadowy eyes. He looks perpetually rumpled, and slouches tremendously. His hands fidget. On his left cheek is a permanent smudge, somewhere between a bruise and a stain.
♚ FASHION: For seven years, Noah has worn the Aglionby uniform he died in - slacks, sweater, button-down, and top sider shoes.
♚ AURAL: His voice is soft and unobtrusive, and sometimes doesn't seem to come from the right side of the room.
♚ OLFACTORY: He smells like damp earth, ancient trees... and overpriced boy deodorant.
♚ PERSONALITY: In life, Noah was hyperactive, enthusiastic, and loyal. He skated about with his bright mind full of ideas, breaking rules and seeking fun and giving his whole self to his friends. His little sister remembered him as a whirlwind, a “firecracker” full of dreams; Whelk remembered him as a sheep, “mild and ambitionless”, but perhaps he had never truly looked at Noah Czerny.
Death changed him completely.
When Noah is first introduced, he is meek and dry. He floats at the corner of conversations, always a little smudgy and a little too quiet to pay much attention to. Thus is Noah without energy. He blends into the shadows, makes knowing comments that set your hair on end, and disappears in a flash. Blue tags him as shy and awkward, but her presence and the effect on his energy create a shift in his behavior. Though he never becomes his living self again, his relationships with Blue and the Raven Boys begin to reveal a personality apart from the timid, vanishing shade he sometimes becomes. The Noah that emerges at the crossroads of his life and his afterlife looks a bit like this:
He has a peculiar sense of humor, laughing alone at things his friends did not intend to be funny - particularly if that friend is Ronan. His taste in music is questionable, he thinks throwing things out the window is hilarious, and he’s incredibly amused by how bad he is at pool. Part of him is still just a careless teenager, entertained by dumb jokes and jumping on the bed and glitter. He asks inappropriate questions in church, he kisses his best friend just to show her what it’s like. Another part of him is still the frightened kid who got murdered in the forest, wary of dark places and tugging on his friends’ sleeves with caution. He cares deeply, worries constantly, and frets passionately. And even though his tear ducts are long decayed in the forest floor, he still cries.
The last part of Noah is the wise, enigmatic spirit. He would be twenty-four if it weren’t for his murder, and he spent many of his years watching the world go on and listening to its thoughts. There’s an intuition and an insight that comes with his experiences, and he often knows what to say to his friends before they even express their problem. It’s a bit unsettling, receiving such a knowing glance from a boy who’s face got bashed in, but when he’s not making dry, infuriating jokes at his friends’ sides, he’s standing entirely too close to them and giving them vague advice. He’s a scared little brother, a fun best friend, and a great uncle’s graduation card, all wrapped up in one small, slouchy body.

♚ BACKTAGGING: Always! If I drop a thread, it's usually because I got overwhelmed by my inbox.
♚ FOURTHWALLING: No, please.
♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Noah is shy and distant towards people he isn't yet comfortable or familiar with, but once he's taken a liking to someone he can be fairly (or extremely) affectionate. Ultimate affection levels include hair-touching and platonic smooching.
♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Nope. If you try to punch him, he will probably just run away. Confrontation is bad and frightening to him, and I am not interested in threading out any violence due to his past traumas.
♚ RELATIONSHIPS: He is not interested in any official, monogamous relationships after his last boyfriend left, but that doesn't mean he won't mess around. He craves affection and intimacy.
